This education program provides advanced instruction in supervisory practice with an emphasis on counselor professional identity, ethical supervision, and leadership within the supervisory relationship. The course examines how transparency and authenticity, when applied appropriately, can enhance supervisee development while maintaining professional and ethical boundaries.

Participants will explore the supervisory role as a model of professional behavior, focusing on how supervisors communicate values, navigate power dynamics, and foster psychological safety. The program addresses the distinction between appropriate professional transparency and boundary violations, emphasizing ethical decision-making in supervisory self-disclosure.

Content includes structured reflective storytelling as a supervision tool, allowing supervisors to model professional growth, humility, and ethical learning without compromising supervisory authority or objectivity. Participants engage in applied exercises to practice authentic communication strategies that support supervisee confidence, self-efficacy, and professional development.

Ethical considerations are integrated throughout the program, including supervision responsibilities, boundary management, and alignment with professional counseling standards. Instructional methods include didactic presentation, guided reflection, experiential supervision exercises, and facilitated discussion to support applied learning.

This program is designed for counselors who provide clinical supervision and seeks to strengthen supervisory competence, ethical practice, and professional leadership in counselor supervision settings.

3 CE hours are available for this course.
